Received slides as a PDF but need to present them, add your own pages or change the order? Converting to PowerPoint puts the content back into a format built for presenting.
It's also a quick way to bring charts or pages from a report into an existing presentation.
How is the PDF converted?
When our office conversion engine (LibreOffice) is available, the PDF is converted into slides with editable text boxes. Otherwise, each page is placed on its own slide as a high-resolution image: it looks identical to the original, but the text can't be edited.
PDFs don't store slide structure, so complex layouts may shift slightly in the editable conversion. Check fonts and spacing before presenting.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the text in the slides?
When the text-based conversion is used, yes. If the pages were placed as images, the slides look right but the text isn't editable; you can still add new text and shapes on top.
Why does the layout look slightly different?
A PDF records where things are drawn, not how a slide was built. Complex layouts, unusual fonts and layered graphics may move a little during conversion.
Can I convert a scanned PDF?
Yes, but scanned pages are images, so the slides will contain pictures of the pages rather than editable text.
Are my files kept after conversion?
No. The PDF is deleted right after conversion, and the .pptx file is deleted automatically after 30 minutes, or immediately if you click Delete now.
